Open trip vs private trip

A trip on Myopentrip can be type open or private. The badge on a trip card marks that type.

What is an open trip?

An open trip uses a fixed date. You join other travelers on that date, following the quota. Checkout follows the date and remaining guest quota.

What is a private trip?

A private trip uses a more exclusive date or group request. You send a request, then the host approves or rejects it. The price can be flat or per person, with a minimum and maximum group size.

An approved request can be paid if there is a quoted price, the request is not expired, and marketplace payments are active. A request with status Approved, Paid, or Completed can hold that date from other requests.
